Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the HopIsla website and related features (collectively the "Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, users (“You”, “User”, “Traveler”) agree to be bound by these Terms.

HopIsla (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates as an online booking intermediary connecting travelers with independent boat operators in the Philippines. HopIsla does not own, manage, or operate any boats.

1. Definitions

  • Platform – The HopIsla website, content, booking engine, and all associated services.
  • Service – The online booking service that allows Users to view, compare, and book transportation.
  • Operator – Any third-party boat company, owner, or provider offering services through the Platform.
  • Booking – A transportation reservation made by the User through the Platform.
  • Ticket – A digital travel document or confirmation issued after a completed booking.
  • Payment Provider – The external payment processor used by HopIsla, currently Xendit.

2. Scope of Services

2.1 HopIsla provides an online Platform where Users can search, compare, book transportation, receive confirmations, and make payments.

2.2 HopIsla acts solely as an intermediary. All transportation services are provided exclusively by the Operators, who remain fully responsible for boat operations, safety, vessel conditions, and law compliance.

2.3 HopIsla does not control or guarantee schedule accuracy, availability, delays, cancellations, vessel quality, or safety standards implemented by Operators.

3. User Eligibility

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Provide truthful and accurate information
  • Comply with all applicable laws and maritime regulations

4. Account and User Data

Users must create an account for booking and are responsible for login confidentiality. Users consent to data use in accordance with HopIsla’s Privacy Policy.

5 & 6. Booking Process & Payments

A Booking is completed once payment is processed by Xendit and a digital Ticket is issued. HopIsla does not store complete payment details.

Pricing Includes:

  • • Base fare set by the Operator
  • • Service fees charged by HopIsla
  • • Payment processing fees

User Responsibility:

  • • Verify travel dates/times
  • • Check ports/pickup locations
  • • Passenger & baggage info

7. Cancellations & Refunds

Policies depend on each Operator. Refunds are processed according to the Operator’s policy. HopIsla cannot guarantee reimbursement unless the Operator authorizes it.

8. Travel Requirements

Users must comply with check-in, ID, and safety policies. Operators may refuse boarding due to late arrival, intoxication, or weather restrictions with no guaranteed refund.

9. Platform Use

  • • No fraudulent bookings
  • • No data scraping or copying
  • • No disrupting security systems

10. Intellectual Property

All Platform content—text, graphics, logos, and software—is owned by or licensed to HopIsla. Reproduction without permission is prohibited.

11. Liability and Disclaimers

HopIsla is not responsible for:

  • • Accidents, injuries, or damages
  • • Delays or cancellations
  • • Actions or omissions of Operators
  • • Quality or safety of boats

HopIsla’s responsibility is limited to:

  • • Providing accurate booking info from Operators
  • • Processing reservations and payments
  • • Facilitating communication

12. The Platform may include links to third-party websites. HopIsla is not responsible for their content or practices.

13. HopIsla may update or modify Platform features, fees, or these Terms at any time, effective upon posting.
